Description

Ideal for a scientist who has knowledge of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) instruments and data processing.

We are looking for a scientist who would be able to join our existing team responsible for Definition and Implementation of Sensor Performance, Products and Algorithms (SPPA) Activities for an ESA Earth Observation mission.

Responsibilities / Duties

The scientist will carry out Data Processing Quality Control activities :

·         Near real time quality checks

·         Processing of data for products

·         Identification of product anomalies

·         Longer-term performance and quality monitoring

·         Monitoring of  product calibration

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience

University degree in a relevant subject and previous experience of Earth observation missions.

Essential Skills

·         Good knowledge of SAR instrument principles and theory

·         Expertise and understanding of Earth observation data

·         Software skills for image processing

Desirable Skills

Knowledge of EO instruments including design and development.

Qualities

Must be a team player but be able to work with minimum supervision.
